Last updated: 17 February 2026
Aderrig Neighbourhood Watch (ANW) is a community-based, voluntary initiative created, managed and maintained by residents and volunteers of the Aderrig area. This website exists solely to support community communication, awareness and cooperation among residents.
Independence from the Owners’ Management Company (OMC)
Aderrig Neighbourhood Watch (ANW) operates as an independent, voluntary and resident-led community initiative.
ANW is not owned, governed, controlled, endorsed or officially operated by the Owners’ Management Company (OMC), estate management agents or any public authority unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Residents who may also serve as OMC directors, committee members or representatives of other organisations participate in ANW strictly in a personal, voluntary and community capacity unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Participation in the platform does not constitute official representation, authority, endorsement or governance by the Owners’ Management Company (OMC).
The platform does not replace official OMC communications, governance procedures, estate management systems or legally required communication channels.
Nothing within the platform shall be interpreted as creating authority to make decisions on behalf of the Owners’ Management Company (OMC), to represent the OMC, or to bind the OMC in any matter.
Community Information Sources
Information published on the platform may be submitted voluntarily by residents, community volunteers, Area Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators or authorised platform administrators.
Except where expressly identified otherwise, information made available through the platform should be regarded as community-contributed information and not as official information issued by the Owners’ Management Company (OMC), estate management agents, public authorities or other organisations.
The platform does not automatically receive, import, synchronise or integrate official records, decisions, instructions, notices or communications from the OMC or any third party.
Where publicly available documents, notices or communications from third parties are shared through the platform, the original source should be identified wherever reasonably practicable.
Residents remain responsible for verifying official information through the appropriate OMC, estate management, public authority or service provider channels where applicable.
Public Information and Community Notices
ANW may publish, reference or share information that is publicly available and considered relevant to the community, including public notices, community events, public safety information, local authority announcements, public service updates and other matters of general community interest.
Such information is shared solely for informational, awareness and community communication purposes.
Where reasonably practicable, ANW will identify the original public source of the information.
Publication of publicly available information through the platform does not imply endorsement, verification, ownership, approval or responsibility for the content by ANW.
Residents remain responsible for verifying official information through the appropriate public authority, service provider, estate management or other relevant source where applicable.
For the purposes of data protection law, Aderrig Neighbourhood Watch (ANW) acts as the data controller in respect of personal data collected through this platform. The platform is hosted using Netlify, which acts as a data processor for hosting and authentication services.
All information published on this website is voluntarily provided by residents. ANW acts strictly as a community platform for recording and sharing information and does not verify, validate, investigate or independently confirm the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any content submitted by users.
ANW is not a security service, law enforcement body, emergency response service or monitoring organisation. This platform does not replace or represent An Garda Síochána, emergency services or any public authority, and it has no role in requesting, directing or enforcing action by such bodies.
By using this website, users acknowledge that any actions or decisions taken based on information obtained through the platform are made at their own discretion and risk. ANW, its administrators, volunteers, Area Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators accept no liability for any loss, damage or claim arising directly or indirectly from the use of information shared on this site.
Personal Data
Personal data provided by residents — including names, email addresses, eircodes, approximate addresses, phone numbers and other information voluntarily submitted — is processed strictly for legitimate community, organisational and communication purposes within the scope of ANW.
The lawful basis for processing personal data is one or more of the following:
- Consent provided by the resident
- Legitimate interest in maintaining community safety and coordination
- Compliance with applicable legal obligations
The platform uses Netlify Identity services for account authentication and secure access control. Login sessions may rely on secure cookies and browser storage mechanisms strictly necessary for authentication and platform functionality.
Where mapping features are used, Google Maps services may process limited technical data such as IP address and browser information in accordance with Google’s own privacy policies.
ANW does not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data is accessed only by authorised administrators and is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679 – GDPR) and applicable Irish data protection law.
Community Sponsors and Voluntary Support
Aderrig Neighbourhood Watch (ANW) operates on a voluntary and non-commercial basis.
Participation in ANW is entirely voluntary and residents are under no obligation to register, participate, contribute financially or support the platform in any manner.
The platform may, where considered appropriate by participating community representatives and volunteers, receive voluntary sponsorship support, technical assistance, donations or other forms of community contribution intended solely to help cover operational, hosting, maintenance, security, development and improvement costs that may arise in connection with the continued operation of the platform.
Any such support is entirely voluntary, community-based and non-commercial in nature and does not create ownership rights, governance authority, preferential treatment or operational control over the platform.
The platform is maintained independently through voluntary community support and does not receive operational funding from the Owners’ Management Company (OMC). The platform does not create financial obligations, liabilities or maintenance responsibilities for the OMC.
Any sponsorship initiatives, voluntary support or community donations relating to the platform may be coordinated transparently by community volunteers, Area Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators and participating residents solely for the purpose of supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of the platform.
No individual resident, volunteer, Area Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator acquires ownership rights, governance authority or commercial entitlement over the platform through such contributions.
Community Sponsors, supporters and contributors have no access to resident information, personal data, reports, alerts, administrative systems or operational controls of the platform.
Sponsorship or support does not imply endorsement, recommendation or preferential treatment of any business, resident or service.
Sponsor logos may be displayed on the website in a small, uniform and non-commercial format to acknowledge support provided to the community platform.
Logo specification for Community Supporters
- Format: PNG or WEBP
- Recommended size: 400 × 200 pixels
- Background: Transparent or white
- Orientation: Horizontal logos preferred
- File size: Under 200 KB
Logos are displayed in a small, uniform format to ensure a non-commercial, community-focused appearance.
Security and Audit Logging
For security, operational integrity and audit purposes, ANW records limited technical information relating to successful account logins. This may include the date and time of login, the associated residence (eircode), and a basic account identifier.
These records are used exclusively to:
- Protect the platform against unauthorised access or misuse
- Investigate security incidents or account abuse
- Maintain the integrity of the community platform
Audit records are retained for a maximum period of six (6) months and are then automatically deleted. Access to these records is strictly limited to authorised administrators.
Access to Personal Data and Sensitive Information
Access to resident information is restricted according to operational roles and legitimate community purposes.
Residents may access only their own account information and community content made available to them through the platform.
Platform administration, operational integrity and data protection oversight are maintained centrally by authorised ANW platform administrators.
Area Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators may be appointed or elected voluntarily by participating residents within their respective community areas for the purpose of supporting local communication, coordination and community engagement activities.
These roles are community-based and voluntary in nature and do not constitute formal governance, estate management authority, regulatory control or official representation of the Owners’ Management Company (OMC).
Where operationally necessary, Area Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators may receive limited access to basic resident contact information strictly required for legitimate community coordination purposes within their designated area.
Such access is restricted to the minimum information reasonably necessary and must be handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR principles and applicable Irish data protection law.
Sensitive information, administrative records, audit logs, security-related information and platform management functions are accessible only to a limited number of authorised platform administrators responsible for operational integrity, security, moderation and GDPR-related administration.
Data Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the community purposes for which it was collected.
Account information is retained while an account remains active. Residents may request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time, subject to operational and legal limitations.
Community reports and administrative records may be retained for organisational integrity, historical reference and community safety purposes, but are periodically reviewed to ensure proportionality and necessity.
International Data Transfers
Where technical service providers operate infrastructure outside the European Economic Area (EEA), appropriate safeguards are applied in accordance with GDPR requirements. Such safeguards may include standard contractual clauses or equivalent data protection mechanisms implemented by the service provider.
Community Alerts and Communications
Residents may opt in to receive community alerts and notifications. These communications may be delivered by email and, where implemented, by SMS, WhatsApp or similar channels.
Participation in alert systems is entirely optional and based on explicit consent. Residents may withdraw consent at any time through their account settings or by contacting an administrator.
Community Elections and Voting Eligibility
Where community elections or resident ballots are made available through the platform, only approved owner accounts linked to their respective residence in the main Eircode register are considered eligible voters. Only votes cast by such owner accounts are treated as valid votes.
Any community polls, surveys, consultations or ballots conducted through the platform are community-based in nature and do not constitute official OMC resolutions, votes, elections or governance decisions.
Accounts identified as tenant residents are not eligible to vote, are not counted for election validation purposes and may be blocked from receiving or accessing ballot functionality.
User Rights
Residents have the right to:
- Request access to their personal data
- Request rectification of inaccurate data
- Request erasure where applicable
- Request restriction of processing
- Object to certain types of processing
- Request data portability where technically feasible
Requests relating to personal data or privacy may be directed to an administrator via the contact details provided on this site. ANW will respond within the timeframes required under applicable data protection law.
By creating an account or continuing to use this website, users confirm that they have read, understood and accepted this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Users who do not agree should refrain from using the platform.
ANW reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time to reflect legal requirements, operational changes or community needs. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically.
